parlez vous francais?
the past couple of weeks had been hard. i wasn't feeling well. i couldn't drink meds for reasons i will not divulge...ever. and stress at work reached new heights which made my head ache too much. i have never felt this tired in my entire life.
i wanted to de-stress last week. i mean, that was the purpose of the haircut. but as you all know, that didn't turn out well. although i did have 2 days of nothingness to boast about, but that was only temporary since my salon experience happened after and everything in my head went screeeech screeeeeech screeeeeech once again.
then work shit of course had to happen after that. even if i had only about 3 days of work left that week (nov 2 was a holiday and i was on leave nov 3), i just wouldn't feel better. i was even dreading my saturday early morning french classes. it was a 9am class. i am not a morning person. by friday night, my exhaustion is beyond words and i was beginning to regret signing up for it. but i decided to just deal. i mean, its just 3 hours. i promised myself that i will give loser me a reward when i am done for the day.
i woke up pretty early saturday morning. i was still dead tired. i remember thinking to myself that this will be a very bad day for me and my stress. since i was groggy and light headed, i arrived five minutes late for the french class. they were already starting, the class was reciting phrases in french. the only seat left with a good view was the one in front so i took it and rummaged in my bag for a pen. i kept rummaging for about 2 minutes before i realized that i forgot to bring one. dumb ass. i was in near panic and i kept thinking, "this is not a good way to make an impression". pathetic me.
without nothing to do about my predicament, i decided to just listen. i became more attentive because i have no pen to make doodles with or write the kodigo after each word to remember how to pronounce it. i even went as far as reciting in my head the rules of pronunciation over and over again. this proved to be a good thing because our instructor is the sarcastic type. when he noticed that most of my classmates were trying to phonetically transcribe each phrase in their handouts, he reprimanded them by saying "huwag na huwag niyong isusulat kung paano binibigkas kada salita. hindi kayo matututo nyan. magiging tamad kayo. dapat aralin niyo yung rules on how to pronounce dahil pag ganyan, ang mangyayari eh yung word lang na yan ang alam ninyo...yung iba hindi na. wag kayong maging tamad"
ang taray...
my pen-less self smiled a bit. i was like.... "yeah!!!! score!". wahahahah!!! and since i was listening to the instructor more than usual, i was able to pronounce the phrase he called out to me to read. then he said "tres bien". bongga!
so yeah, french class was definitely a good distraction for me. i enjoyed it immensely and can't wait for our next class.
after that, my friend douglas and i went to the mall to simply mill around. saw the Coraline dvd in astrovision...tempting...but no. after that, i went to a different mall to meet some friends. we went bowling (i lost. i'm not exactly athletic) which was hella fun and had dinner at bubble tea. i rewarded myself with their passion fruit black tea with extra bubbles. yum! (ang babaw lang ng trip!)
luckily my parents were also at the same mall so i was able to hitch a ride home.
i guess it wasn't such a bad day after all.
