tagos, pare.

i am actually contemplating on moving some old blog posts from a different blogger account to this new one.  i just read some of them and it was craaaaaazy.  i never really truly realized how fucked up i was(slash am) until today.   one of my favorite things was to quote movies.  i am sharing one from a ben affleck film titled "chasing amy".  one of my favorite movies ever.  i remember saying, "i wish i couldv'e written that one" enjoy! I love you. And not, not in a friendly way, although I think we're great friends. And not in a misplaced affection, puppy-dog way, although I'm sure that's what you'll call it. I love you. Very, very simple, very truly. You are the epitome of everything I have ever looked for in another human being. And I know that you think of me as just a friend, and crossing that line is the furthest thing from an option you would ever consider. But I had to say it. I just, I can't take this anymore. I can't ...

week 12: Sweet Dreams are Made of This

its the end of an era!!!! and dating Tobys sana renovation lang pero parang wala na talaga although i cannot be sure, but toby's shangrila branch is no more. huhu.   i am sad because this was the usual meet-up place of friends i've met through the years. but i really do hope they are just renovating.  anywayy....how was week 12?  hmmm.  i suggested to my boss that my schedule be moved from morning to midshift due to the our build hours.  build, meaning the time when they (software developers) shut down the testing environment and deploy fixes and shit.  after the build, i am required to test again.  so if let's say they build at 6PM, i would have to either wait for it to finish (which sometimes would take hours) or test the next day (since my shift ends at 530).  anyway, i figured it's better to check the build right after than have to wait the next day to see if it was successful or not.  my boss liked this idea so i start...

week 10: keeping it light and happy

my therapy every morning is good coffee.  for week 10, country style was the favorite. coffee with bagel masarap siya.  at mas mura pa!  Php40 lang recently, i decided to forego with overtime so i can get home early to have dinner with my family.  this proved to be a very good idea because it allowed me to bond with my parents (my sister apparently, rarely comes home for dinner) and save money at the same time.  as usual, i was pretty forgetful with the camera but i took  a shot of our meal last tuesday night: arroz ala cubana (tama ba spelling?) i couldn't remember much about what happened for week 10.  it was normal, like any other week where UAT System Testing is involved in an I.T. project:  hectic.  repeatedly testing on same functionalities.  revising test scripts.  answering questions.  answering emails.  logging incidents.  meetings over and over and over again you would want to scratch your...

week 8: eh.

ok so far i have been having a really bad couple of weeks at work.  too many issues and so many crap to deal with.  sana lang talaga matapos na ang lahat para maka-move on na ako. the last week of february was pretty hectic work-wise, but not so eventful happy time-wise.  although there were a couple of celebrations worth mentioning like my brother's birthday and his son, liam's birthday. brother dear as usual ordered pizza for his birthday dinner.  i think someone took pictures.  i wasn't able to do so because i was too lazy hahaha!  anyway, it was really fun because the entire family was present.  tamang kwentuhan/ingay lang.  i was able to try out Hawker 101 Food House, a Singaporean inspired resto located in Urban Avenue Makati City.  a bunch of my former colleagues and i decided to have lunch here this week.  bonding lang baga. we had the noodles, bacon rice, yang chow rice, hainanese chicken, fried prawns and laksa. ...

the ghostwriter.

ewan mcgregor is this film did not particulary spark my interest the first time i heard about it. i thought it would just be another one of those boring thrillers. but late one night, i saw the dvd being sold near the bus stop and thought...well what the heck. it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. the ghostwriter had the right elements of what a thriller should be. the entire movie felt like an agatha christie book brought to life. i really felt scared for ewan's character as he tries to piece together the mess he got himself in. and the plot twist was just delicious. 4/5 stars on a kind of off-topic note: i must admit, this film left me so much more intrigued about the ghostwriting profession. i knew about the existence of ghostwriters, mostly on collaborating with politicians who can't put together words for their speeches and students who are too lazy to come up with research/term papers or celebrities w...
