sorry but i just had to share.
government offices are painfully slooooooow in their operations. everybody knows this. but even if you complain, nothing ever really happens. so for most of us hardworking taxpayers, we tolerate this behavior because that's how it's been done since time immemorial. we utter "that's life" or "let's just get this over with" while cursing every 4 seconds.
i was able to experience this (again) today as i trotted to the mandaluyong city hall for my NBI clearance renewal. too bad for me their cut-off time is 3:00PM (go figure). so i proceeded to the police clearance booth. aaah the government employees, how do i describe the laziness we are accustomed to. i had to call someone from the back to explain to me what to do because no one was manning the window. it took a while for someone to show up. oh yes, they fucking let you wait. and mind you, they let you wait in the blistering heat while they are all inside enjoying the fucking A/C paid for by us, the taxpayers. i wanted to scream "!$^%@$#&@%$!!! isa ako sa mga nagpapalamon sa inyo!!!!!". aaaarrrghhh.
so i had to leave of course and decided to go to the nbi clearance renewal place in megamall instead. even if there's a longer line there, at least i'm inside the freakin' mall and away from the summer heat (which is sooo not helping with the mood, seriously what is up with the universe? mother nature is roasting everyone alive these days).
the megamall experience was so much better. the staff there are not particularly friendly BUT they get the job done...FAST (meaning, they don't participate in no nonsense chit chat). i was in line around 3:50PM and i finished 4:24PM. not bad. best part is, they have a system. you don't see them slacking off, scratching their bellies or gossiping every other transaction.
love love love it.
anyway, i only need one other requirement and my pre employment documents are complete.
