week 6: making the most of a really bad situation
week 6 wasn't as great as i thought it would be.  but at least it wasn't THAT bad (considering the sunday afternoon shocker, but i'd rather not talk about that).  what i want to talk about on the other hand is how i was able to cope with all the pressure i had to endure the entire week.
breakfast is my most favorite meal of the day...which is ironic because i am not a morning person (then again, who says you can only have breakfast meals in the morning?).  so last week (i think this was a tuesday), i had breakfast at coffee bean & tea leaf.  my friend and i used my BDJ coupon (buy 1 breakfast set and get 1 breakfast set of equal or lesser value).
i forgot to take pictures (again) so i apologize if the food does not look appetizing.  (priced at Php229)
the best thing about the breakfast meal? the coffee...hahaha!
i had the brek-o-day
my friend had the eggs benedict
i have been drinking a loooot of coffee this week.
coffee i drank while waiting for an appointment (americano Php75)
saturday afternoon, my friend and i went to robinsons forum (pioneer) so she can do some grocery shopping.  before entering the supermarket, i spotted this:
you had me at exclamation point
bongga sa sign ang laki at ang liwanag!  so we decided to check it out.
it's basically just potatoes, really.  ateh inserts it or whatever into a machine and then voila!  hirap explain so nag-video na lang ako:
so again, patatas lang friends.  nothing really exciting sa taste.  it's just deep-fried then flavored (cheese, sour cream & onion, parmesan and garlic, barbecue, chili something and plain).  pretty lang talaga tingnan.
finished product (cheese)
after the supermarket experience, we went to tokyo cafe.
tokyo cafe is one of those places that i find myself wanting to go back again and again.  their food is not really all that, to be honest.  and the ambiance?  keri lang.  so, me liking this restaurant is a mystery.
oooh!

interior shot 2
since we already had dinner at sisig hooray, i just ordered coffee and dessert.  my friend was in halimaw mode so she ordered the chicken burger.
i really liked the coffee.  the french toast, so-so.  parang masyadong makapal yung bread.  pero it didn't taste bad.  hindi ko lang nalasahan yung pagka-"french" nya hehehe.
sumibiyaki (Php 85)
french toast (php 105)
chicken burger (magkano nga ba ito?)
tubig para tipid
sunday, i was supposed to work.  pero tinamad ako...kasi sunday.
for lunch, we cooked instant carbonara by del monte (kitchenomics).  we didn't have bacon so my friend crisp-fried king sue sweet ham instead.  haha.
OK naman for a carbonara that came from a packet
afterwards, i went to church.....
and theeeen....
i met with some old colleagues for a movie marathon at boni residences.  before heading off to the flat, i stopped by mightee mart (convenience store..best friend, gumagana na aircon nila and they accept all major credit cards na raw haha) to buy snacks.  and i found this:
kaloka!
ramdam niyo ba ang pagka-ube niya?  hahaha!  either i am color blind, or they just don't check the merchandise.  shop at your own risk haha!  pero seriously, may ganito bang ube?  baka naman ignorante lang ako haha.  may teal-colored ube pala (teal or blue-green?  mahina ako sa colors).
we watched brother bear and august rush.  after that, we had dinner at RJ Bulaluhan.  i forgot to take pictures.  boo!  on my way home, i saw this:
may libreng TB raw yung x-ray
diba dapat mahal ang x-ray?  or at least, di naman ganito ka-mura?  baka isang x-ray lang yung binibigay sa lahat.  haha!  joke!  although when i asked my mom, she said that this is actually possible especially if the clinic is located near the health center or whatever.
so there you go.  i dropped a few stories about work (because that is getting old) and another uber shocking news that i still find hard to get over.
don't worry, i'm working on it.
