week 15: we're gonna party like it's... (1st of 2 parts)

2 MAJOR things happened this week.

FIRST and most importantly:  IT'S MY BIRTHDAY WEEK!  wooooot!  i've  setup a few activities (na hindi natuloy, like "My Sassy Girl" day) which were really awesome and i will talk about that later.

second major thing:  i quit my job. 

kaboom.

it wasn't a total suprise to the people who are very close to me.  they know the gist, i wasn't happy.  that's basically it.  i can ramble on and on about my experience, but the reality is that i am just sick and tired of what i was doing.  heck, i was sick and tired of myself.  it just wasn't the right fit. 

anyway, thats that. 

let's talk about cheerier things...like my BIRTHDAY!

so, even though i had major shit lined up that week at work (it was really getting more and more frustrating everyday), i pushed through with my birthday leave.  it was a friday so it was also a long weekend for me. 

but first, thursday night, i met with my old team.  i missed them so much!  we had dinner at gerry's grill ayala.

i woke up pretty early on friday because best friend said he'll be at my house around 830AM.  we were supposed to go to Manila Ocean Park (3 years ago, he took me to the zoo and i loved it!) but we figured it's friday and as well as payday, we may have a hard time going home.  so instead, we decided to go mall hopping.  hahahaha!  but my first surprise for the day are these:

28 dora balloons!  given by my neighbor.  aylavettt!!!

 best friend was late as usual.  he bought me a cake made by his older sister (Norie's Kitchen).  the cake was AWESOME.  i looooove daria.  it was perfect.

daria:  "i don't have low self-esteem.  i have low esteem for everyone else"

Quinn: "Don't worry, it's fake."
Daria: "Aw, you got a tattoo to match your personality."

 

Jane:  "isn't 'exciting assignment' a contradiction in terms?"

we had an early lunch at Penang Hill, mainly because it's the only resto in that strip that i haven't tried yet.

the food was OK.  it wasn't great.  maybe that's why the place is never full hahahah!

best friend wanted to relax a bit so we went back to Nail-A-Holics for some pampering.  i got a footspa and my very first foot/leg paraffin experience.

i posted a video on youtube that shows the paraffin getting peeled off from my leg.  ang galeng, parang balat lang hahaha!

it was great!  happy feet (and legs!)!

we met with our friends jill and carlo a few hours later.

i wanted a couple drinks so we went to Krocodile Grille, only to find out they ran out of vodka ice.  bummer.  we didn't enjoy the drinks here.  and i dont get the blue lighting.  it hurt my eyes.

but all in all, i had a great time.  it was my day!  woo!  i have often said that your birthday is the only day of the year you are allowed to be selfish.  so yey for me!  hahaha!
